Location.The Kent is a restored Art Deco hotel in the South Beach area of Miami Beach, Fla. The hotel is less than one block from the beach and Lummus Park, and six blocks from the shops at Lincoln Road. The Jackie Gleason Theatre of the Performing Arts and the Miami Beach Convention Center are both located one mile from The Kent. Hotel Features. Originally built in 1936, the Kent has been refurbished to a dazzling and capricious masterpiece. The lobby's original mahogany accents and classic terrazzo floors have been well maintained, while the new furnishings and details explode in an array of colors. The lobby is splashed with lavender, orange and red oversized chairs. Complimentary newspapers are available in the lobby, along with board games and a kiosk that offers high speed Internet access for a fee. The 228 square foot Hibiscus room is available for meetings and production offices. The Kent features an on site garden area perfect for reflection.
Guestrooms. The striking guestrooms have the same attention to detail as the public areas, integrating ultra contemporary style into vintage accommodations. The 56 guestrooms are designed with lavender walls, blond wood flooring and brushed steel accents. Accommodations feature desks, flat screen televisions, DVD players, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Amenities include makeup mirrors and complimentary toiletries.
Expert Tip. The Kent's Acid Jungle garden, with its retro orange loungers and large Banyan tree, is available for unique special events.

Go north. Continue on SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway), heading east. Continue on I 395, heading east. Continue on MacArthur Causeway (US 41), heading east. Exit MacArthur Causeway at sign reading "SR 907 N Alton Road. Go north. Turn right onto 8th Street. Turn left onto Collins Avenue. The hotel is at 1131 Collins Avenue.
